Star TEACHER Jeffery Redding West Orange High School’s choral director , Jeffery Redding , is the 2019 winner of the Grammy Music Educator Award , which recog - nizes one teacher each year who has made a sig - nificant and lasting contribution to the field of music education . Redding was chosen out of a pool of 2,800 nominees . Star Student Grace Allen Lake Highland Preparatory School student Grace Allen was selected to enroll in the 2019 class of Disney Dreamers Academy . Allen is an AP Scholar , a volleyball team captain and a thespian . She will be attending Harvard University . Star ATHLETES Eun - Hee Ji & John Smoltz Star Students LPGA player Eun - Hee Ji and baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz are the Holy Family Catholic’s proud winners of the inaugural Diamond Resorts Tournament of Genesian Players Champions , which took place recently at Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Students of Holy Family Seasons Resort Orlando . The tournament pairs the world’s top professional Catholic School’s Genesian women golfers with well - renowned sports and entertainment celebrities . Players put on Monty Python’s Spamalot musical to STAR MATHLETES resounding success . Lakemont Elementary School Students Lakemont Elementary School’s Mathletes club won first and second place at the Orange Star Student County Public School’s East Area Jonely Perez Competition . Ocoee High School student Jonely Perez was a recipient of Mayor Buddy Dyer’s MLK Jr . Humanitarian award . The award is given to students for exemplifying the ideals embraced by Martin Luther King Jr . , including justice , inclusion , peace and respect . Star ATHLETES Boone High School Basketball Team Boone High School’s boys junior varsity basketball team went undefeated for the entire season . This is the first time since 1980 that one of the high school’s teams has accomplished such a feat . Star PRINCIPAL Star Student Laura Beusse Varun Aggarwal Ocoee High School Principal Lake Highland Preparatory School senior Varun Aggarwal won first place at Laura Beusse was named the the University of Florida Junior Science Engineering and Health Symposium 2019 Orange County Counselor for his presentation and defense of a STEM innovation project .
